The dplg has made funds available to assist disadvantaged youth. The
roll-out of the Bursary Fund will follow a phased approach initially
targeting engineering students in the system with the initiative being
expanded through financial commitments from stakeholders. Phase two will
also target successful Grade 12 learners.
Who Should Apply
Applicants should be within the designated group i.e. black women and
men, youth, and disabled, where youth is defined as in the National
youth development policies of South Africa.
Applicants must be South African citizens.
Applicants must be eligible to enroll for an engineering degree in any of the recognized South African Higher Education Institutions.
Applicants who have successfully completed their first year engineering degrees.
Applicants from a previously disadvantaged background, especially the Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, North West and Limpopo, will be given priority.
Applicants willing to join the municipal engineering sector after the successful completion of their studies for a period equivalent to the period of bursary support. Bursary Application Form
