Glencore Bursary Requirements


Engineering disciplines, candidate must obtain a minimum rating of 6 (70%-79%) in mathematics and science, 5 (60%-69) English and as per requirement of institutions.
The candidate must obtain a minimum rating 5 (60%-69%) in Mathematics, Accounting and English to be considered in Finance.
Successful candidates will be required to sign a service obligation with Xstrata Coal SA
The successful candidate must be in possession of a valid certificate of fitness or be fit enough to obtain one prior to the commencement of Bursary Award, as this is a requirement of the Mine’s Health and safety Act.

HCI FOUNDATION BURSARY

BURSARY INFORMATION - HCI FOUNDATION

The HCI bursary provides financial assistance to academically deserving and financially needy undergraduate students in any field of study and any year of study for a first tertiary qualification, or continuing students who enrol for Honours at a public University or University of Technology in South Africa.

SELECTION PROCESS

Although we strive to provide bursaries to as many as we can, not all will qualify. Please make sure you meet the mininum requirements that we have.

REQUIREMENTS, ELIGIBILITY & VALUE

A South African citizen or a refugee (with the right to live, study/work in South Africa):
  • Age 35 years or under as of 30 September 2013.
  • Studying for a first tertiary qualification or
  • Continuing students who enrol for Honours.
  • Enrolled or intending to enrol in a full-time course of study.
  • Above 50% average for Matric or end of year results ( Life Orientation is not considered).
  • Studying at a University or University of technology registered with the Department of Education, or intending to make an application to study.
  • With a gross family income of less than R20 000 per month.
  • You must have an active email address
  • You must have an active cell phone number
  • You must have a student number if you are applying for your second year of study or higher
  • You must have the exact amount of your parents’ or guardians’ monthly income
The amount that gets allocated to successful applicants is R33 000 per student. This basically partial bursary to deserving applicants. You must enrol in one of supported universities in South Africa.

The number of awards is 250 for Honours and Post-graduate Diploma level at the supported institutions listed above.

Abe Bailey Travel Bursary



The objective is to broaden the views of young South Africans by enabling OUTSTANDING South African students / junior lecturers who show exceptional leadership qualities and a strong service ethic, through an all-expenses-paid three week educational tour to the United Kingdom. Furthermore, the intention with this bursary is to:
• Effect greater understanding and co-operation among those with various language and cultural backgrounds;
• Foster enterprise, commitment and effective participation in a common future;
• Promote South African unity.

The credo of the Abe Bailey Trust: “Leadership Development with the emphasis on Nation Building“

The following conditions apply:

• Nominees shall be students of not less than two years standing or members of the staff of junior lecturer status;
• Nominees must be of South African nationality;
• Nominees must be aged 25 or less at the start of the tour;
• Applicants should have a sound academic record;
• Applicants must have been involved in leadership roles within the university, schools and/or community;
• Applications will be subjected to a selection process.

ArcelorMittal South Africa is awaiting applications from recently graduated candidates to join their Graduate-in-Training programme.

Applicants for the commercial internship need to be in possession of a BCom Risk Management qualification from a recognised university.
The successful candidates will enter into a structured development programme which will run over a period of up to 24 months during which trainees will be exposed to various business processes and disciplines across functional boundaries in ArcelorMittal South Africa.
Applicants who meet the minimum requirements by demonstrating competencies relating to problem solving, communication, negotiation and presentation skills, supported by good interpersonal relationships with an orientation to achieve results, will be favourably considered.
It will be expected of short-listed candidates to report for a selection process and a pre-employment medical evaluation.

The SAMRO Foundation invites applications for student bursaries for music studies.

Who Must Apply

full-time students,
registered at a South African University, in their
2nd, 3rd and 4th years, or honours, masters or doctoral degrees, who are
Citizens of South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho or Swaziland, who are
studying for a degree or diploma majoring in music.
Regrettably the SAMRO Foundation is not presently in a position to award bursaries to:

students from private higher education institutions;
university students in their 1st year of study;
students in foundation or bridging programmes.
Each bursary is worth R10 000.

The Application

Before applicants start to fill in the form they should source following digital documents that will need to be uploaded before submitting the application:

Johannesburg Water (SOC) Ltd was established in 2001 as a municipal entity wholly-owned by the City of Johannesburg. It is a R5.3 billionturnover company employing 2 700 people and its core purpose is to provide water and sanitation services to approximately 3.8 million people.

In line with the Company’s talent management strategy, Johannesburg Water offers comprehensive bursaries to students for full time studies at accredited tertiary institutions.

The student bursary includes vacation work and experiential training. Johannesburg Water invites students/undergraduates who are interested in joining the Water industry to apply for bursaries in the study fields mentioned below:
BSc Engineering (Civil) with 1st year completed or Matric with 70% in Mathematics and Science. Electrical Engineering (National Diploma) with S1 completed.
