Pick n Pay Graduates Programme

Applications for the 2017 Pick n Pay Graduate Programme are now open.

As a world-class retailer, Pick n Pay strives to employ the brightest and most promising talent to help us maintain our leadership position.

The company believes in the potential of youth and invest heavily in attracting and identifying future leaders through the annual graduate programme.

Buying and Store Operations are the two critical areas of focus for next year’s programme.

These functions are the lifeblood of the Pick n Pay business and require self-motivated and driven individuals who are keen and quick to learn.

Store Operations is perfect for those who thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

The focus is on creating the perfect shopping experience for our customers.

Buying is equally dynamic and market-responsive, but requires a keen analytical mind and detail orientation.

Customer shopping patterns, product range, pricing, promotions and negotiating the best deals with suppliers define this important part of our business.

Successful candidates are enrolled in an intensive 12-month graduate programme delivered in partnership with Wits Business School and accomplished industry experts.

In addition to providing practical business experience, the programme instills and hones the appropriate technical and people skills crucial to today’s workplace.

Completion of the programme will result in an NQF 8 qualification — the equivalent of an honours degree.

These graduate programmes will be run in Johannesburg. Applicants therefore must either reside or be studying in Gauteng.

Requirements

We’re looking for ambitious, hard-working, proven achievers who desire to build a lasting, rewarding career in a blue-chip company like Pick n Pay.

Ideal candidates for the Buying programme must hold a degree or diploma with a major in economics, statistics, maths or accountancy.

And for the Store Operations programme, graduates must have a retail degree or diploma.
