ETDP SETA Bursaries

ETDP SETA Bursaries



The Education, Training and Development Practices Sector Education and Training Authority is one of 23 SETAs established as a result of the Skills Development Act. The main purpose of the SETAs is to address skills shortages in South Africa by identifying the skills needs of specific industries and sectors, to be a conduit to up-skilling both employed and unemployed citizens, to assess and monitor their progress and ensure that they successfully complete their programmes and are certified as competent to compete in the workplace and find suitable employment.

The ETDP SETA focuses on the Education, Training and Development sector and promotes and facilitates skills development in this sector and achieves its goals through a number of different skills development interventions including bursaries, amongst others.

• NPDE and PGCE
• B.Ed Mathematics and Science
• B.Ed Foundation Phase
• Certificate in Education
• B Com
• BSc Applied Mathematics
• Masters in Commerce
• ACE in Leadership and Management
• Computer Studies
• Human Resources Management
• Public Finance.

There are a number of bursaries available for learners who have successfully completed Grade 12 and wish to pursue a career in the ETD sector. If this describes you, please apply to the ETDP SETA and the Department of Education or enquire about other funding schemes.

Unemployed South Africans who are previously disadvantaged but interested in studying towards qualifications in the ETD sector, especially in scarce and critical skills areas.

Employed South Africans from previously disadvantaged backgrounds who are interested in specialising in an ETD sector field of study identified by the ETDP SETA.

Russian Government Scholarship for South African Students 2016

The Russian Government is making available scholarships for South African students to study at Russian institutions from the academic year 2016/17.

These scholarship may be awarded for undergraduate (Bachelors) or postgraduate (Masters or PhD) studies. Preference is given to postgraduate applications.

Application Criteria

- South African citizens in good health with a strong academic record.
- Available to study in Russia from September 2016 (no extensions will be allowed).
- Demonstrated interest in Russia and commitment to the development of South Africa.
- Applications from all qualified candidates in any field will be accepted, but priority will be given to applications for postgraduate studies
